![]() A great alternative to Seche if you are concerned about the presence of certain chemicals. Poshe – This is similar, almost identical, to Seche in that it is a super quick drying, thick, glossy top coat with one major difference, this is free of toluene. To read up more on toluene, please refer to this article by emedicine. So far so good. Please do note that this contains toluene which may be a concern to some of you. To fix this, I use Seche Restore (pictured above) to thin it and top up the bottle with my large salon size refill. It does however thicken halfway into the bottle and once it gets to this stage, it can cause shrinkage of the underlying polish. ![]() It is also great for Konad as it does not drag the Konad stamped image when applied (more on that later). It is thick enough to provide adequate leveling of rough glitter polish, dries fast and has a great glossy finish. Seche Vite – This is one of the most universally popular top coats and for good reason. Due to the thin formula, I would not recommend using this with Konad. The solution to this I’ve found is to ensure that there is a large bead of top coat on the brush so that the brush does not directly come into contact with the nail. The only con I can think of is that the formula is rather thin which means if you were to layer it on top of freshly painted polish, there is a risk of the brush dragging the polish underneath. It dries fast, has self leveling properties and yields a smooth glass-like glossy finish. Unfortunately the drugstores in Hong Kong stopped carrying Sally Hansen and I was forced to look for other alternatives to Mega Shine and to my surprise, some of the them beat Sally hands down.Įssie Good To Go – Can’t say enough good things about this top coat. It was thick enough and dried fast enough but I felt it didn’t give me as glossy a finish as Mega Shine or some of the others below. It also gave a smooth mirror like hard finish which made every manicure seem like a professional one.īuoyed by my initial success with Mega Shine, I also tried Sally Hansen Insta-Dri which is a favourite amongst many. Now we come to something that I can’t seem to stop buying – top coats! Ever since I discovered my first quick dry top coat, Sally Hansen’s Mega Shine Extended Wear Top Coat, I have been hooked on painting my nails as it meant I no longer have to wait hours for my polish to dry. I could not even get my hands on Love Marilyn or Material Girl, which were the other colours I really wanted to try. My pics below really do not do it justice.Īs far as I know, a few colours in the 3-D Glitters collection are already sold out (at least in HK). Under artificial lighting, the polish really popped as the silver reflected the light really well. Like a lot of glitters, it dried a bit gritty but it’s nothing that a nice thick top coat like Seche can’t fix. If I were to wear this as a full manicure, I would probably use a silver foil like Zoya Trixie underneath it.Ĭlose up pic showing the size and dispersion of the glitter. Even then, my nail line and colour peeked through some parts. No top coat.ĭue to the clear base, I ended up having to do 3 coats on some nails, 4 on others, just to get it opaque enough. All swatches are 3-4 coats of Lorelei’s Tiara over 2 coats of Essie Fill The Gap. On the nails, the bottle colour translated perfectly. It is essentially silver and light turquoise-y blue glitters suspended in a clear base. You can see the glitter better in the following bottle pics. China Glaze really has a way with naming polishes, somehow this reminds me of Disney’s Cinderella, all sparkly and pretty in silver and blue. Lorelei’s Tiara was released as part of China Glaze’s Eye Candy 3-D Glitters 2011 collection.
